Setting up the Email Offloading to a SharePoint Site

As an administrator, you can choose the SharePoint site where the email content from Outlook will be offloaded. Here are the steps:

  1. Log in at admin.microsoft.com. In the left column, click Show all. Scroll down and click SharePoint to open your SharePoint admin center.
  2. Click on Policies > Sharing
  3. Set External sharing to Anyone.
You can configure this as a global setting and then set independent sharing settings for each SharePoint site
  1. Click on Sites > Active Sites.
  2. Create a new site for offloading email content. When creating a site, choose the following options: :
    • Team Site
    • Standard Team Template
    • We recommend naming the site: XQ Offloading (but any name will work)
    • Add an admin account as the Owner
    • Private Site
    • No members needed (adding members allows those users to navigate to the site)
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. Make sure External file sharing is set to Anyone. If it’s not, select Anyone and then Save
All offloaded content will be encrypted.
  1. Select General
  2. Click on Edit under Site address.
  3. Locate the SharePoint site address. You’ll have to copy and paste it in another step.
  1. Log in to the XQ Dashboard.
  2. Click on Security under Settings.
  3. Click on the Connect button next to Connect to SharePoint to offload email data from Outlook.
  4. Log in to your Microsoft account associated with the SharePoint site.
  1. Once you are connected to SharePoint, copy and paste the URL you found in step 8 and click on Update
