Is There Any Latency Introduced as a Result of the Encryption?

Yes, there is some latency introduced as a result of the encryption.

The amount of latency is dependent on a number of factors that are all user configurable. As encryption is typically CPU bound the amount of latency is dependent on the CPU performance of the device as well as the Key Recycle time set by the user.
