Can I Send Encrypted Files From My Vault in an Email?

If you need to send a file that’s in your Vault, make sure you attach the file that does not have the .xqf file extension.

  1. Click on attach files as you would normally do when writing an email.
  2. From your desktop, open the Vault folder where the file is located.
  3. Select a file from that folder (the name of the folder starts with Vault and the files don’t have the .xqf file extension).
  1. The file will be encrypted when you send the secure email.

Files encrypted with the XQ Vault (files ending in “.xqf”) can only be decrypted by an XQ Vault and therefore should not be sent via email.
